The Guys Are Props Club by Ingrid Seymour
4 STARS !
During her senior year in high school, Maddie Burch promised herself not to ever fall for a cute guy – or any guy – again. Cute guys are players and not to be trusted, a fact she learned the hard way when her first boyfriend ran her heart through a paper shredder. Two years later, her promise is still intact, and she’s determined to make it through college without falling victim to another creep. She has her job, school and The Guys Are Props Club to keep her mind and hormones in check.
The club was founded by Jessica, Maddie’s best friend. It is a sisterhood of girls who have fallen prey to heartless jerks and who have vowed to turn the tables. Once a semester, Jessica requires members to “do onto others as they’ve done unto you.” Setting the example, Jessica’s next play is Sebastian Capello, a theater major with heartthrob looks and a flair for Latin dance, whose heart she plans to break the way hers was once broken.
What the friends don’t know is that Sebastian is different. Despite his perfect looks and popularity, he’s not a jerk. He doesn’t play games to get his way. Instead, he keeps it real and goes after what he wants with honest intentions. And what he wants is not a bombshell like Jessica, but a down-to-earth girl like Maddie – even if it causes a riff in the girl’s friendship. Even if it means getting Maddie to break her personal vow.
Maddie was also really great, she was sweet, normal, smart, and caring. She works at a hospital and becomes friends with this little 10 year old boy, Hunter, I loved that boy just as much as she did I think. That aspect of the story was really great, it wasn't necessary for the story but it added so much for Maddie's character development, it was really amazing to see. Her back story is pretty rough as well and I feel really bad/embarrassed for her and I totally understand why you would swear off guys for a while if that happened to myself but I am so glad she decided to try for something more with Sebastian.

*You know those unknown books you find by accident than fall head over heels for? No? Well you should totally read this one! I literally read this in like 3 1/2 hours , no stopping, that's how involved I was ! I enjoyed the characters and the plot, it was very much unique, as I have never heard/read of a story that was like this.
It has everything you would need ... A hot guy, (papi chulo in the house <-- I know i'm a loser) a pretty normal girl who doesn't annoy the shit out of you a whole lot (just a teeny), & bitchy "best friend" you want to kick in the face really hard, and of course sex and secrets. Ingrid really did a great job with this book and I totally look forward to reading more from her !
Add some green eyes to this fine piece of male greatness and that my friend is my Sebastian!
I really liked Sebastian A LOT ! He's latin, a theatre major, and an absolutely amazing dance, oh and extremely friggen HOT ! He was really great, he comes off as a dirtbag, kind of, in the beginning and than you really get to know him and realize what an amazing person he is as well, he even gets to know Hunter, the sick child as well and that is also a really sweet relationship. You can really tell he cared about Maddie and that he wasn't some "player" that Maddie was used to.
Sebastian and Maddie's relationship was pretty gradual which I always enjoy it wasn't just straight hey? you love me? because I totally love you! It was like the real deal. Yes, there was a mutual attraction but even that wasn't sparked like crazy right away. You just hope the whole time that they are going to work out and stop being ridiculous with the secrets! GAH these secrets drive me crazy BUT that hoe bitch Jessica , Maddie's so called "Best friend" really drives me up a wall, I wanted to just pimp slap that hoe from the first mention of her name and I guarantee you will too!
The only reason I did not give this book four stars is because there was no epilogue =[ , and unfortunately I live for an epilogue as you guys probably already know from my other reviews of books without one. The ending felt slightly rushed to me so I was really rooting for a future glimpse but even so this book was still GREAT! If you were on the fence about reading it before - go read it , it is really worth reading about Maddie and Sebastian's love story <3 You won't regret it !!
